The General Digital Catalogue
The General Digital Catalogue provides bibliographic records on all types of items, including articles, published in Russian and other languages in various media at different periods of times. Access to the General Digital Catalogue of RSL is open for free to all Internet users. You can search through the whole catalogue or limit your search to the following sub-catalogues for a particular category of items.

Proper names of people and organisations
It contains the codified forms of people’s and organisations’ names along with references to the varieties, including multilingual, of people’s and organisations’ names. It is used to refine the search by a proper name of a person (author, editor, composer etc) or an organisation. -
Geographic names
It contains the names of geographic units (cities, towns, rivers) within the Russian Federation. It is used to refine the search by a geographic name.

E-request
If an edition is available through e-request system, you can access its stocking record and request it from the depository directly. Click on the link «request» in digital catalogue to make a hold request for an item.
The Central Catalogue System
A self-service system with points of access at Moscow, Vozdvizhenka, 3/5, building A, 1st fl., provides information on the stocks of RSL. The following catalogues are available:
- An alphabet catalogue of books and dissertation digests published in Russian from 18th century to 1979
- An alphabet catalogue of books published in Russian from 1980 to 2002
- An alphabet catalogue of dissertation digests published in Russian from 1980 to 1999
- An alphabet catalogue of books published in European languages from 18th century to 1979
- An alphabet catalogue of periodicals and series published in Russian from the 18th century to 2009
- An alphabet catalogue of periodicals and series published in European languages from the 19th century to 2009
- A classified catalogue of books published in Russian and other European Languages from 1980 to the present
- A classified catalogue of books listing publications in languages of the peoples of Russian Federation (other than Russian) along with publications in Byelorussian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Moldavian and Ukrainian

Specialised Catalogues
Alphabet and subject classified catalogues for specialised departments represent specific categories of RSL stocks, selected according to the types of items, carriers and subjects. Such catalogues are maintained by dedicated departments, with points of access situated within the departments.
